It provides parliamentary, governmental and protocol support for the minister and deputy ministers. It coordinates international visits and works, co-organises events at the European and international level. It is responsible for cooperation with EU institutions and other international organizations.

The Department also combines analytical and communication competences in order to support strategic initiatives of the Ministry. It prepares analyses for selected projects, coordinates work on impact assessment of regulations, and gains new knowledge essential for the Ministry by collaborating with stakeholders. The Department is responsible for consultations, internet website and social media. Innovative projects of the Ministry, such as the new act on public collections, are also created here.
